At Capacity Global we understand sustainable development as the evolution of social systems that support international economic, social and environmental needs in the present and the future. We prioritise the eradication of poverty and advocate the equal distribution of the world’s natural and built resources. Below are details of our sustainability research projects.
Through a series of workshops SuScit aims to provide real people with a greater say in how environmental justice and sustainable development research priorities are defined. Day out at Kew GardensCapacity Global will be accompanying the residents who participated in the SuScit Action Research on a trip to the Kew Gardens on the 24th January 2009. As a way of celebrating the successful partnership and to encourage access to nature amongst the groups of residents, the group will be enjoying a day full of activities and fun. The mothers are invited to take their children and the SuScit team will coordinate activities that will cater for everyone's needs and interests SuScit work in 2008Throughout March and April the SuScit Action Research participants have launched a series of initial discussions of urban sustainability to explore differences and similarities in the perceptions amongst researchers; sustainability practitioners; and local residents. Through workshops and creative filmmaking, the residents’ panels, the researchers and practitioners groups reflected upon the connections between the urban environment, the local community, and our quality of life preparing to meet up soon and exchange their knowledge and experience.
