Environmental Justice in London
The successful completion of this study led by Capacity Global and the London Sustainability Exchange resulted in the release of the agenda setting publication ‘Environmental Justice in London - Linking Environmental Justice to the Equalities Agenda’ As a result of the study recommendations, the Lord Mayor for London, Ken Livingston, made a commitment to establish London’s first ever environmental justice code. Integrating Social Inclusion and Environmental Concern
Commissioned by Jean Lambert MEP and the Green Party at the European Parliament, this research project and report helped to raise an additional £2 million budget to improve environmental training across a range of professional sectors. Download Report.
Access to Justice
Drawn up for the Sustainable Development Unit of the Department of Environmental, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) this piece of research reviews the role of the UK legal system as a tool for gaining environmental justice. The report, launched at the Environmental Justice Conference in London 2006, continues to play a key role in initiatives that review access to environmental justice in English courts.
