Diversity

Capacity Global works with research partners to look at diversity issues within the environmental sector. We also specialise in helping organisations and institutions research and explore opportunities that will, through the development of audience plans and the assessment of existing services, improve their ability to engage and provide employment opportunities for young people, low income and working class households, Black, Asian, Minority and Ethnic (BAME) communities. If you are interested in looking at how to develop the reach of your organisation contact: research@capacity.org.uk

Below are details of our diversity research projects.

Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic’s (BAME’s) - Tackling Social and Environmental Inequalities
Based on a series of seminars and focus groups organised for DEFRA this report offers a Black, Asian, Minority & Ethnic (BAME) perspective on environmental and social inequalities policy in England. The report that accompanied the seminars has been used by governments and environmental organisations to review how they work with BAME groups on environmental issues. Download Report.

Environmental Justice and Discrimination in the European Union
This study examines the possible impact environmental justice advocacy work could have on anti-discrimination legislation in the EU and pioneered a review of the connections between environmental and discrimination in Europe. The report that accompanies the study will be launched in May 2007. Order Publication.
