Research conducted by Capacity Global suggests that within the EU, vulnerable groups carry a disproportionate burden of environmental hazards. Our findings also show that this same group of people are excluded from access to the mainstream legal system, specifically within the UK.
In order to tackle this inequality in access to justice Capacity Global has developed a range of projects that encourage the development and use of the law, as a means of attaining environmental justice. Driven by the Aarhus Convention much of our work has been focused on promoting the use of procedural elements of environmental justice, such as access to information and public participation, both areas of law are firmly established within the European Union (EU).
Below are details of our legal projects. |
