Diversity Environment Engagement Project (DEEP)

The Diversity Environment Engagement Project (DEEP) aims to work with three black and minority ethnic (BAME) groups located in the most deprived neighbourhoods, to address local concerns of environmental and social exclusion issues.

Capacity Global will provide the community groups with support to develop and manage environmental initiatives to tackle the issues affecting their communities, and build collective action at local and national levels that can influence mainstream environmental equality campaigns and policies. The Big Local

Big Local is a ten-year programme led by Community Development Foundation (CDF) and also includes CCLA, IVAR, Capacity Global, NANM and UnLtd, that will achieve lasting change in 150 areas in England. It will provide a mixture of funding, finance and support. This will enable local people to build on local talents and aspirations and identify and act on their own needs to make their areas better places to live, now and in the future. Local communities will drive Big Local in their area. The programme will support, challenge, train and encourage people to develop and take ownership of Big Local in their local area. Legal Action and Research for Communities Scheme (LARCS)


The aim of the Legal Action and Research for Communities Scheme (LARCS) is to provide a framework for UCL law students to carry out research and provide advice to local communities, with training and on-going support from Capacity Global. The scheme forms a key part of a partnership agreement between the Faculty of Laws and Capacity Global and will equip up to five undergraduate or postgraduate students with training, office and research facilities and legal support to carry out supervised research and policy work on specific cases relating to environmental problems in London. Greener Jobs

We’re running this new programme to support a fair and just transition into a low carbon green economy. For us that means an economy that cares about environment and people.

Moving into this low carbon economy will require jobs that are greener and fairer. We want greener jobs to provide opportunities that support environmental justice and provide fair wages whether you’re a solar panel fitter or a hairdresser.

The Greener Jobs programme wants to do two things: ensure a green economy provides fairer, greener jobs and training opportunities for a diverse multicultural work force and advise policy makers on solutions for scaling up greening jobs initiatives. More...
