11 Sept: Culture, Ethnicity and Sustainable Behaviour Workshop
Maria Adebowale, Director of Capacity Global will be hosting a workshop on 'Culture, Ethnicity and Sustainable Behaviour', which is part of the Sustainable Development Research Network (SDRN) Conference 2008, entittled: Sustainable Development: New Issues, New Challenges.
The SDNR conference is the Network's annual forum for the dissemination and
discussion of the new and emerging issues prevalent within sustainable
development research and policy-making. Bringing together up to 150
representatives from research, academia, policy and the business and NGO
sectors, the event provides a unique networking opportunity for SDRN
members.

Green Party Presentation
Capacity Global will have a stall at the Green Party conference in September. Maria Adebowale, Director and Tola Agboola, Just Cities Youth Group will be giving a presentation entittled: 'We meet here every Tuesday' - Inclusion, Engagement and the Environment .
Presentation Synopsis:
International, National and local policies promote participation both as a right and a tool for improving communities quality of living.
However, it is currently accepted to label certain community groups as ‘hard to reach’ (poorer communities, Black, Asian and Ethnic Minorities, Young People).
Capacity global challenges this notion, discusses effective ways to engage with communities as well as highlighting benefits of actual engagement and inclusion policies.
